Key info 

  • Full time or 4 days per week.
  • Based out of our central Bristol office with the ability to travel. We embrace flexible and hybrid working but staff are also regularly needed in our office by our teams and clients.
  • A basic salary of £85-95k per annum (full time equivalent) plus commission and profit share scheme bringing total on target earnings to £170-190k. 
  • A 9% non-contributory pension.

Who do we need?  

We are seeking an experienced sales professional to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead our Sales function. You should have a proven track record of creating a “sales engine” with a complete, predictable system from lead generation through to client onboarding. You should also have a proven track record in personally managing complex B2B sales from prospecting through to closing.

Taking a consultative approach, you will enjoy understanding our clients’ businesses and identifying how we can add value. You will thrive in a team environment and be ready to step into a leadership role, supporting others to excel in sales. You will have worked closely with marketing colleagues to both give and receive essential support for successful outcomes at all stages of the sales pipeline.

This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, but we are open to considering 30 hours over 4 or 5 days.

What will you be doing?  

  • Leadership, Management and Accountability for all members of the sales team.
  • Defining, setting and delivering the Sales strategy, processes and tactics, ensuring they are followed by all.
  • Delivering Ghyston’s Sales goals.
  • Setting, tracking and achieving sales revenue goals. Planning sales strategies keeping in mind Ghyston’s values and core focus.
  • Managing Ghyston’s client portfolio to increase stability and profitability, and to reduce risk.
  • Building relationships with prospects and existing clients that result in sales, positive impact, loyalty and account growth.
  • Managing a small personal sales target from prospecting through to sales closed to model best practice behaviour.

What might you be like?  

  • Experienced in B2B sales and/or advisory roles.
  • Significant experience of advising clients on how to achieve their overarching business goals through the innovative and effective use of professional services (ideally digital) or similar. 
  • Used to managing long, complex sales cycles.
  • Ability to collaboratively develop proposals that demonstrate value and ROI to clients, whilst also achieving revenue and growth targets. 
  • Have great people skills and an aptitude for communicating with technical and non-technical people alike. 
  • Experienced in leading a team of sales professionals, with the ability to motivate and mentor individuals to get the best results.
  • Used to working towards personal and team targets, tracking and communicating results at a senior level.
  • Ability to use leading indicators of market conditions to quickly develop new strategies and pivot the function.
  • Have an interest in how technology can accelerate business.
  • Motivated to get stuck into a supportive, values-driven business. 
  • Happy to work in our central-Bristol office for at least half of your working time, and/or when the business requires it. 

Ideal experience   

  • Working closely with technical colleagues, coaching them in sales techniques where necessary and making the most of their technical expertise to close deals.
